Georgia Tech Theme Park and Engineering Design Club 2025 Escape Room
Challenge: Develop an escape room experience that felt entirely new and distinct from the previous year, while also correcting technical issues and design flaws identified in the earlier version.
Solution: Developed an new theme while strategically reusing just one puzzle from the prior escape room. Implemented design improvements to resolve past technical issues and focused on enhancing guest experience and overall reliability of the experience.

Story:
The king has vanished without a trace, his crown shattered and scattered across the castle grounds. Whispers speak of creatures that dwell within the surrounding fog. As royal investigators, you and your team are summoned to enter the castle, uncover the truth, and restore the crown before the kingdom is lost to darkness. Solve the puzzles and beware, nothing is as it seems.

Twist:
The king was no man at all, but a creature in disguise. When his enchanted crown shattered, its magic dissolved, forcing him back into his monstrous form and driving him to flee the kingdom.
Puzzle Design and Development
Final Puzzle: Crown Jewels
Overview:
Guests will solve puzzles throughout both rooms and recover 6 different gems that when placed back into the crown will reveal the truth about the king's location and recent disappearance.
To solve the puzzle, players must:

Find all six gems by solving all puzzles between both rooms.

Place the gems back in the grown and see the crown light up.
Successfully placing the gems back in the crown and seeing lights indicates the successful completion of the escape room and the disappearance of the king will the revealed.

How does it work:
​This puzzle was accomplished by using magnets, fairy lights, and spare wires. First, we cut the fairy lights, separating the battery pack from the string of lights. Next we drilled small holes to put the spare wires through, so they reached all over the crown. Next​
